Welcome to Endurance Room

Picture
At the beginning of Term 3, our Staffroom and office were transformed into our fifth classroom 'Endurance' .  This followed the theme of our other classrooms, all named after the ships of great explorers.

The 13 fabulous Year 0-1 learners in Endurance are great ambassadors of this name as we use our creativity, perseverance and positive attitude to explore new ways of learning, challenge ourselves to think outside the box and develop the confidence to sail to new horizons in our learning!

The main focus in our class is Oral language, Literacy and Numeracy, with our other curriculum areas integrated within these.  In Endurance, we are learning to take greater responsibility for our learning, setting new goals and finding new ways to help ourselves out of the 'Learning Pit'.

This term we are eagerly preparing for our Junior Poetry Recital, learning to talk in front of an audience and use our voice in an interesting and expressive way.  We have been learning new poems in class while developing our artistic skills as well.

We are all looking forward to the fabulous term of learning ahead of us in Endurance - watch this space!

After learning the poem 'Bagon the Dragon'  we explored ways of blending colours using the medium of pastel and dye to create our own fantastic dragons.

We really enjoyed performing our poem 'The Fu Fu Bird'  and created our own birds for our classroom wall.  We learnt how to use contrasting colours to create an effect and practised the skill of paper curling to create the amazing feathers.  You can see our birds perched high in our very own Fu Fu Tree.
