Kia ora tena katou katoa,

It was a pleasure teaching in Endeavour on Tuesday. I was impressed with the high level of concentration, enthusiasm and sharing that happened in our junior room. Clearly many of our school values on display in Endeavour by our juniors. If yesterday’s experience is to go by then the future of Tahuna School looks very bright! I would like to thank our juniors for the fantastic day!

Belinda Duncan

It is Belinda’s last day teaching in Endeavour Room on Thursday. You are most welcome to come in and wish her farewell. Over recent years Belinda has brought great energy and enthusiasm to our school and also a passion and expertise for learning through play in our junior room. You have made a positive difference to many of our children and we wish you all the best at your new school.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Appeal 2021

On the 19th May 2021 Tahuna School participated in a fundraising event for the Westpac Rescue helicopter. A group of students who called themselves “Angels From Above” organised a special day at Tahuna School to raise funds for this important rescue group. The rescue helicopter flew 90 time-critical missions in April this year alone. The helicopter had to come to Tahuna School once this year, so the Angels understood how important it was and wanted to do something to help.

We had a bake sale, did helicopter themed activities, dressed up in red and yellow, and we sold American style hotdogs for lunch with tomato sauce and mustard (to match our theme). We even had a Westpac necklace made by one of our fellow students!!

Lots of donated prizes were given out for showing our schools ICARE values (Integrity, Challenge, Ambition, Respect, Encourage) and for winning some of the activities that we did. We made certificates to give out too.

It was such an awesome day, and we raised approximately $800 to go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Appeal.  We would encourage any groups to fundraise for great causes like this. They need our help now, and we may need their help in the future.
