Newsletter Week 4, Term 4

Kia ora Tahuna families
We are well into Term 4 and there is so much happening at school that is keeping us busy!

Our teachers and staff are working very hard to ensure our learning programmes are focused on our priority areas of reading, writing and maths, and at the same time organising many events and trips that bring excitement and joy to our children!

Class Awards
Endeavour – Leah, Florence and Charlie
Endurance – Olive and Bruno
Maungaturoto – Jack, Jethro and Joseph
Discovery -Anna and Jade

Congratulations to you all for your great work!

Students Councilors
Our student councilors met last week. From Monday they will be increasing their leadership capabilities by being on duty and wearing a highvest so our children know they are on duty and they are able to support. The student councilors will be on a timetable roster. Well done children for your commitment.

School Athletics
Our annual event was held on Friday and it was great to have great weather! It was so awesome watching all our children participating and competing. I would like to thank our sports co-ordinator Mr K for his hardwork and organisation, and I also would like to thank the staff and parents for your awesome contribution to making this day a huge success!

Thank you!
We would like to thank Aaron Budd for kindly donating 10 beach umbrellas to our school.

Rural Athletics
This Friday the 11th November is the annual rural athletics held at Tauhei School. We are taking our whole school to this event. We have had a strong response from parents who can take transport. Tahuna School Polo shirts will NOT be issued for Rural Athletics due to a shortage of shirts. The children are required to wear their Tahuna School hat. Hats will be handed out on Thursday. Thanks for your support and we are looking forward to a fun and enjoyable event.

Morrinsville Fireworks Display
The big event went well! Lots of work had gone on behind the scenes to get the food and drink stall ready to sell lots of yummy food and drink to raise funds for learning resources. A big thank you to our FOS – Brylee, Stacey, Charlotte, Sally, Sarah M and Sarah B. Also thanks to the other parents and staff who were able to help out.

Chicken Sheds
Thanks to all the parents who were able to help out with the Van Hellemond and Haskew chicken sheds – we had a very good response and a job well done!

Old CD’s
If you have any old CD’s and don’t require these anymore we would like these to use to stop the birds nesting in the external heat pump units.

Ngaa mihi
Phillip and Staff
