Enrolment at Our School

We’re always excited to welcome new tamariki and their whānau to our school community! With a rolling intake, children can start school on their fifth birthday—there’s no need to wait for a new term or set start date. Everyone’s journey is unique, and we’re here to help make the transition to school as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

To support this, we offer relaxed and welcoming school visits on Fridays from 1:15 to 2:30 pm. We recommend between 2–4 visits before your child turns five, giving them the chance to become familiar with our space, meet our wonderful teachers, and make some new friends.

Nestled in a peaceful rural setting, our school offers the best of both worlds: fresh air, room to move, and a close-knit community, along with rich learning experiences and excellent teaching. Our small class sizes mean your child is truly known and supported, right from the start.

We offer a play-based environment that encourages creativity, curiosity and confidence, while also laying strong foundations with structured literacy and PR1ME Maths to support learning in the early years.

Transition to School
We like to make the transition into school life as easy as possible. We encourage you to come and meet us and arrange pre-visits for your child.

Location
Tahuna School is located in the Waikato, 20km north of the farming town of Morrinsville. The village has approximately 60 houses, 200 residents.
