Principal Message
Term 3 has been a much more settled term due to easing of covid restrictions further and we have had some good weeks with low absenteeism.
Our focus on participating and contributing has remained strong with our children involved in many exciting and meaningful activities. Some notable opportunities have been the exciting House Sports Day, dancing in time with jump jam, the well supported Grandparents/Roald Dahl/Bookfair Day, the fun and groovy disco (to fundraise for senior camp) The Morrinsville Fun Sports Days and the Tahuna winter hockey and miniball teams.
Well done to everybody who was involved in some shape or form to make our events successful! Without the support we cannot provide these opportunities.
To our warm, friendly and respectful Tahuna children! Thanks for your great efforts with your learning and living our ICARES values.
To our focused and hardworking staff, thanks for ensuring our programmes are engaging, meaningful and fun!
To our fantastic, supportive parents and FOS, thanks for your continued unconditional support of our proud and progressive school.
I like to wish you all a happy and safe school break and I look forward to seeing you next term. We have an exciting action packed Term 4.

Covid Health Measures
Public Health advice – From 13 September you must still:

Household Contacts
House contacts no longer need to isolate for 7 days. If you live with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, we recommend you to: take a rapid antigen test (RAT) each day for 5 days, and avoid contact with the person who has COVID-19.

Isolation and masks

  • isolate for 7 days if you have COVID-19
  • wear a face mask in certain healthcare facilities, such as hospitals.

Hockey and Miniball
Congratulations to all the children who participated in miniball this term plus a special thank you to Leasa Craw, Nick Kraezlin, and Kathy Mills who coached and managed our teams.

Our hockey teams finished their season last week with the Tahuna “Superstars” winning the finals and taking home the trophy for the year. It was great to see the positive spirit and teamwork displayed by both teams. A special thanks to Stacey Wiliiams and Sheree Austin who coached and managed the teams for the season.
