Newsletter Week 4 Term 4

Welcome back to our children and families of Tahuna School. It was with great excitement to see the smiling faces of our children last week and it has been pleasing to see all our children settling back into their learning routines quickly. We would like to welcome Arlo and Kassius to our school and you both have made a positive impression on us all. Also we would like to welcome Indie who has returned to our school and it’s lovely to have you back.

I would like to thank our parent community for your support with our Level 2/3 health measures. It is outstanding and it reassures all our collective efforts to keep each other safe.

Livestock Day

Congratulations to all our children who were involved in our annual Livestock Day. Your hardwork, efforts and commitment to your animal is outstanding! Also to the children who were not able to attend I congratulate you for your efforts as well.

I am immensely proud that our livestock day went ahead under the circumstances at the time. For all of this to happen and for this day to go as smoothly as possible I would like to thank our parents, families, judges, staff and community members.

Water Bottles
As our water fountains are not in use due to our current health measures we require all children to bring a filled water bottle. The water bottle can be filled up at the staffroom when required by your child during the day.

Prize Giving Cups Returned
If you have a prize giving cup from last year can you return it asap to our school office this would be greatly appreciated.

Life Education
We have the life education bus and Harold the Giraffe onsite on the 23rd, 24th and 25th November. Always an exciting learning opportunity for our children with a health focus.

Morrinsville Intermediate Yr 6 Day
Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 Alert Level 2/3 situation, the Orientation Day scheduled for Friday 3rd December has had to be cancelled. There is an alternative plan that will enable them to meet their classroom teacher (virtually this year) and know where to physically find their classroom.

Hockey
Congratulations to all our hockey players who have trained hard and played well this season. A big thank-you to our coaches.
Well done to Tahuna Gold on all their games and to Tahuna Stars for coming 2nd in their finals game.
The Tahuna Red team played in the final of their competition and in overtime Tahuna Red won 1-0.

Pool
The pool is looking great and most afternoons the children will have the opportunity to go for a swim. Please remember to pack your child’s togs and a towel. I think it’s fantastic our pool is open for the warm weather of Term 4.

Paper 4 Trees
We received some more native trees for our nature zone and we are looking forward to planting these soon.
